A Scene At The Election Booth

A scene at the election booth is full of activity and excitement. Different political parties put up their camps at a short distance. The activists inside the camps guide the voters. Each camp has the flag of its party. People come to the booth in cars, jeeps and other vehicles to cast their votes. There is a long queue of voters outside the booth. Each voter is checked from the list of voters by a junior officer outside the booth. In many states, identity cards have been issued to the voters. Each voter’s shows his identity card and goes in to cast his vote. No one can impersonate anyone old men and women are carried by their relatives on their shoulders. Ailing persons are carried on stretchers. The officers on duty help the blind and the disabled in casting their votes. There are many vendors outside the booth. They do good business on this day. The supports of the candidates remain there throughout the day. They stand around the vendors 'rehri' and discuss the chance of success of their respective candidate. Police pockets are set up outside the booth. Police maintain law and order. The scene remains noisy throughout the day.
