An Ideal Teacher
An ideal teacher is a nation-builder in the real sense. He can make his nation great and strong. He shapes his students into good and useful citizens. He works for no reward. He works with a missionary spirit. He is an asset to the nation. He is respected for his moral and intellectual qualities. He is a source of inspiration for his students. He is loving and sympathetic towards his students. He treats them as his own children. He goes to his class well prepared. He does not speak above the heads of the students. His method of teaching is simple and clear. His lessons sink well into the mind of students. But effective teaching in the class room is not only quality of an ideal teacher. He is a teacher inside the class-room and outside it as well. He sets an example of good and noble life for his students. His students love and respect him. Degrees and diplomas do not make an ideal teacher. He has in him a synthesis of all the good and noble qualities. He has a lovable personality. The students feel at home in his company. He wins the confidence of his students and tries to remove their difficulties. He is the torchbearer for his students. He keeps the torch of knowledge burning day and night. It is through his efforts alone that a nation can become truly great.
