How I Spent My Holiday in A Rainy Day

“Rain is gift of God"

It was a fine morning. I was still in my bed at home. I opened my eyes and saw that the sky was overcast with clouds. A cool wind began to blow. Soon a few big drops of rain came and within a few minutes, it began to rain in torrents. There was a thunder-bolt and I heard it while I was still in my bed. I suddenly realized that it was a holiday.

It was the spring season. The cool breeze kept me happy. I left the bed and took off my clothes. I stood in the compound of my house. I stood in my loincloth. I decided to enjoy the shower bath. It started raining heavily. The whole street turned into a pool of water.

Children were the happiest of all. They made merry, splashing water at one another. They floated paper boats in the drains. They ran about naked in the streets. Their joy knew no bounds. They sang songs. All young and old enjoyed mango parties. Ladies prepared dainty dishes to celebrate the rainy day. Some of my friends joined us and we started playing tricks and singing, "Barkha Rani Jara Jhume ke Barso" while standing in the compounds. We enjoyed the shower-bath much. One of my friends slipped and fell down. We laughed heartily. We marched towards the street outside. We enjoyed the scenery on the way. The smiling flowers, swaying fields, and sweet notes of birds kept us very happy. We reached home in high spirits.

We started shivering soon after. We returned home and had a cup of tea. I felt a little hungry. My mother called me for the lunch and I had a hearty meal along with my sister who set close to me.

We did full justice to the meal. We had a sweet dish of pudding. We started playing indoor gamer. The heavy shower compelled us to stay within doors. Soon after there was a light drizzle. We saw patches of scattered clouds everywhere.

We enjoyed it very much on that holiday. Had our college been open, it would have been very difficult to enjoy on that day. Thank God, we had been able to experience a pleasant holiday when it rained. The weather, being pleasant, it was a highly enjoyable experience not to be forgotten for a long time to come.
