Draft a letter to the Editor of a newspaper against rising prices.

Dear Sir,

Kindly publish the following matter in the columns of your esteemed paper and oblige.

The rise in prices of essential articles has broken the back of the people. The salaried people, the workers, and the middle-class persons are groaning under their burden. The purchasing power of the rupee has gone down considerably. The housewife finds it too difficult to manage the family budget. The price of wheat is about Rs. 650/- per quintal. The price of sugar is Rs. 15/- per Kilo. The price of vegetable ghee is Rs. 55/- per kilo. The price of milk is Rs. 18/- per kilo. The price index is going up every week. A vast majority of people in our country find it difficult to make both ends meet. Some families go without food at night. The general health of the children is suffering a setback. People are at a loss to know how to keep body and soul together. All this is very serious.

The government should control the prices, otherwise, the situation might go out of control. It should bring the black marketers and the profiteers to book. Price lists of all articles should be displayed at all shopping centers. The rise in prices must be checked at the earliest. At least the prices of essential articles of daily use must be brought down within the reach of the common man.

Yours truly,
