Write a letter to the Editor of a newspaper advocating the establishment of a library in your town.
Sir,
I shall be much obliged if you kindly allow me a little space in the columns of your esteemed paper to bring before the authorities the necessity of establishing a library at It is a beautiful town, ten kilometers away from Rohtak. Its population is about twenty-two thousand. The town is fitted with electricity and has a post and telegraph office. It has a Small Town Committee. There are two high schools for boys and one high school for girls. The population is mostly literate.
But it is a pity that there is no public library for the use and benefit of the public. Everybody cannot buy books and newspapers for himself. So people cannot be up-to-date in their information and knowledge of current affairs. The Small Town Committee has not so far given its attention to this pressing need. Public-spirited persons have not come forward to help the public. At present, a library in the town is a crying need of the hour. I trust the authorities will release its importance and will take early steps to set up a library and a reading room here.
Yours faithfully,
