Biography of  A.R. Rahman

The Mozart of Madras, A.R. Rahman is the most sought-after music director in India. So far, he has composed music for around forty films in the last eight years, and each film song of his has been a hit. Born on January 6, 1966, Rahman is a soft-mannered, devout Muslim. He is absolutely committed to his work, has immense faith in God, and has the desire to try out different things. All these qualities have helped him become more and more creative and emerge as the unchallenged leader in Indian cinema music.

A.R. Rahman exudes his songs with a refined cinematic sensibility and with a touch of Indian cultural heritage. He has revolutionised Indian cinema music with his computer-aided music. ‘Bombay’, ‘Rangeela’, ‘Taal’, ‘Dil Se', ‘Sapney’, ‘Pukaar' and 'Saathiya' are some of the films for which he scored super hit music. His album 'Vande Mataram' was a tribute to India's hard-earned independence. He has been chosen as the best music director for four consecutive years.
