Biography of Paresh Rawal

Paresh Rawal is one of the finest actors in Indian cinema. He is able to do a variety of roles with his huge talent and immense dedication. He has been acting since his school days. Graduating to Gujarati theatre, he made an indelible mark on the audience.

It was Javed Akhtar who spotted him on stage and immediately picked him up for a role in ‘Arjun'. His acting in the film was instantly appreciated by the audiences. He had a short and snappy role in Naam too. He portrayed the role of Vellji Bhai in 'Sir', which was very popular with cine buffs. He got the National Award as the best supporting actor for the film. He followed this up with Ketan Mehta's landmark film ‘Sadak', which according to him was his most satisfying role.

He plays various roles in films. His role of Babu Rao Apte in ‘Hera Pheri' was highly appreciated and won him a Filmfare Award. Paresh Rawal has done many regional films too. He is still very much involved with the theatre.
