Biography of Ram Gopal Varma

Ram Gopal Varma is a successful film director of the Indian cinema. He is experimental with his films and his films are known for its technical excellence.
Varma was very interested in films right from his childhood. He was interested particularly in film direction. He met actor Nagarjuna with the script of 'Shiva’. Nagarjuna was impressed and gave him a break as a director for the film. 'Shiva' was a resounding success. The film dealt with student politics and violence in college campuses.
Varma's first Hindi film ‘Rangeela' was a huge hit. It gave Urmila Matondkar's career a boost. Varma made another superhit film 'Satya'. This film was nominated for the Filmfare Award. His film "Kaun' was an experimental suspense thriller. Recently his film 'Company', based on the underworld, saw the coming of a new star Vivek Oberoi.
Ram Gopal Varma's 'Jungle' was also a good film. It was supposedly based on the life of sandalwood smuggler Veerappan.
