Biography of Shahrukh Khan

(November 2, 1965)

Shahrukh Khan was born in 1965. A rank holder both at College and University levels in his B.A. exams, Shahrukh dabbled in theatre in his hometown Delhi, before moving on to Television serials like 'Circus' and ‘Fauji', which were highly popular.

He got his break in Hindi movies with Hema Malini in the directorial venture 'Dil Aashna Hai' and then with ‘Deewana', released in 1992, he achieved stardom. With the films 'Baazigar' and ‘Darr', Shahrukh merged the defining line between a hero and an anti-hero and marked the transformation of a murderer into a popular hero, undefining the motive and morality behind the violence.

In Aditya Chopra's ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’, which was a superhit, his performance as the sensitive and loving protagonist won him a credibility as an actor to reckon with. His later films, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham’, established his credentials as the reigning superstar of his generation.
