Ustad Amjad Ali Khan is India's most revered and successful exhibitor of classical music. His fame has reached to such an extent that his name has now become synonymous with Sarod-the instrument he plays and masters in.

When Amjad Ali Khan was merely twelve years old, he gave his first recital of Sarod. He was born on October 9, 1945, in the royal family of Gwalior. He was taught by his father Hafiz Ali Khan, a great player of Sarod. He belongs to the sixth generation of Senia Bangash School. He has added a new dimension to the repertoire of the Sarod. He represented India in the first World Arts Summit in Venice and received Hon’ry citizenship from the states of Texas, Massachusetts and Tennessee.

He is one of the few maestros who considers his audience as the soul of his motivation. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Yorkshire and New Mexico. He has been awarded the U.N.E.S.C.O. Award, Padma Bhushan and the UNICEF's National Ambassadorship.
