Biography of Viswanatha Satya Narayana

Viswanatha Satya Narayana was born on September 10, 1895 at Nandaman in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. There is no form of literature which remained untouched from the writings of Vishwanatha Satya Narayana.
Viswanatha Satya Narayana left his studies to participate in the Indian freedom struggle. In 1916, he wrote Andhra Powrushami, eulogising the irrepressible vigour of the Andhras. Narayana wrote 25 epics, 15 stories, 88 novels, 9 review books, numerous short stories, nearly 200 Khandakas on 8 books in Sanskrit. This versatile author wrote 'Sri Madramayana Kalpa Vruksham' in almost 30 years for which he was honoured with the Jnanpith Award in 1970 and later Indian government crowned him with the Padma Bhushan.
His historical novel 'Ekavira' is a masterpiece. His work, 'Veyi Padagalu', gives a clear vision of disfigure and distorted culture resulted by so-called modernity. He died on October 18, 1976 in Vijayawada.
