Children and TV
My mother lets me watch TV programmes before tea when I get home from school. This is because the programmes that are on then are suitable for children of my age. After tea I do my homework. After that I can only watch TV if the programme is particularly educational or interesting. My parents say that I can learn a lot from such programmes. They say that this kind of TV can be very good for children. They also say that not all television programmes are suitable for children. They are very careful about what I watch. They certainly would not want me to watch any programme that has anything violent in them. They believe that watching violent actions on TV can make children violent. My parents believe that watching too much TV of whatever kind is bad for children. They worry that this will result in the children taking too little exercise and becoming unhealthy. They also think that it might stop children from having time for hobbies or even prevent them from studying. I understand my parent's point of view. I realize that watching too much television can be a bad thing. Still, I really enjoy watching television. I find it relaxing.
