A Visit to a Zoo

"What immortal hand or eye, Does frame thy fearful symmetry."

No doubt God has created the world a land of numerous wonders. When one visits a zoo, he feels the might of God and considers Him the greatest artist. A zoo is a good feast for the eyes and good nourishment for the mind of a naturalist. I had a great desire to visit a zoo. During my last vacation, I paid a visit to my uncle in Delhi. I went to see the zoo there.

The zoo is situated in an old Fort and is spread in many kilometers. I purchased the entry ticket and went in. It has been planned in a very wise manner. The herbivorous animals, the carnivorous animals, aquatic birds, and animals are all kept at different places, category wise. They have been provided with natural surroundings as far as possible. For aquatic birds and animals, there are beautiful big tanks that remain full of freshwater.

There are many veterinary surgeons and experts who look after the animals there. People are prohibited to feed the animals and taking snaps.

Inside the zoo, I found myself in a different world. There were birds of different colors and sizes. One is filled with wonder seeing their beautiful colors and hearing their sweet melodious songs. There are very cruel, wild beasts like tigers, lions, leopards too. I saw cubs. I heard the roar of a lion. They looked very fierce and wild. Their roars thundered throughout the zoo.

There were white tigers having straps on their body. They were looking very beautiful. At the same time, one wonders to see them. There were polar bears. One was white and the other was brown. There I saw many types of deer, a rhinoceros, a wolf, and a hyena. The zebra was a great attraction for the crowd. There were kangaroos, an ostrich, a black cat. Delhi zoo had a couple of van manush, again a place of attraction.

After it, we went to the monkey section. They were amusing the people with their frolics. There were different types of jackals, snakes, and hares. There was an elephant, a wild bison. For children, there is a rail inside the zoo.

A visit to the zoo was a very thrilling experience. It increases the horizon of the mind. It makes us peep into the life of wild animals that we never see anywhere else. They are the gifts of God and treasure of the nation.
