Sub: Unsanitary conditions in Lal Bagh Residential locality 

Sir,

I am a nominated representative of the residents of the Lal Bagh Residential area. I would like to bring to you the unsanitary conditions prevailing in our locality.

For the past several months, the 'safai karamcharies' of our locality have been abstaining from their task of cleaning the area. And it is only after constant requests and an occasional 'tip' that we have managed to keep a semblance of cleanliness in our locality.

The matters have however come to a head because for more than two months that we have last seen any of the 'safai karamcharies' in our area. They neither come to clean the place nor allow us to employ anyone to do the cleaning.

As the result, the drains are blocked and overflowing. Garbage has been piling up at all the garbage collection points. This has attracted many cows, rodents, dogs, and cats from the neighboring areas. The overflowing drains have become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, flies, and diseases.

Our representations to the Sanitary Inspector of the area have not borne any fruit.

I, therefore, request you to please look into the matter at the earliest. Or there would soon develop a plague-like situation.
