Sub: Complaint against the damaged consignment.

Dear sir,

I would like to state the following facts for your kind consideration.

A consignment of 40 bales of unbleached cloth weighing 25 kg each bearing the numbers 23/12 to 63/12 and each per R. R. No. WRT 345612 was dispatched from Mumbai Central on the 28th of May, 2017 on the Mumbai-Delhi Express train.

This consignment was addressed to M/s Rose Dyers 210 Model Town, Delhi.

After a delay of almost a week, I have finally traced the consignment in the Railway Goods Office. The consignment however is badly damaged. The jute coverings of the bales have been torn off. The cloth itself has been damaged by rats.

I have on authority that the bales of cloth were in tip-top condition when loaded at Mumbai and unloaded at the Delhi railway station.

I suspect some criminal act. I, therefore, urge you to kindly look into the matter and take the required steps to bring the culprit to book.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,

ABC.
