Biography of Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a hugely successful actress of India. Madhuri was born in a middle-class family. She wanted to become a microbiologist, but fate destined otherwise.

An offer from Rajshri Productions brought Madhuri her first role in the film Abodh' in 1986. The film was released and forgotten. Famed film director Subhash Ghai promised Madhuri better roles, on the condition that she stopped doing tiny roles in insignificant films. Thus Ghai gave Madhuri 'Uttar Dakshin', and then a proper launch in Ram Lakhan' in 1988.

Madhuri's first hit film was 'Tezaab'. The songs of the film took the nation by storm. She performed superbly in the film 'Dil'. She was awarded with the Filmfare Award for the film. From 1990 onwards, a hit film per year followed, including 'Saajan', 'Khalnayak, "Hum Aapke Hain Kaun', which were the biggest commercial successes of Indian Cinema. Her recent hit is Devdas'.
