Biography of Sohanlal Dwivedi
(Born: 22 February 1906, Bindki - Died: 1 March 1988, Kanpur)
Sohanlal Dwivedi was born in 1906 at Bindaki in Fatehpur of Uttar Pradesh. He was very fond of literature and languages. Therefore, he did post-graduation in Hindi and Sanskrit.
Sohanlal Dwivedi's writings reflect the fervour of nationalism. He is one of the leading nationalist writers of his era. He wrote many well celebrated books on Gandhi and his principles. He had shown faith in Gandhism in his writings. He presented the policy of reformism in a very lucid and tacit manner.
Sohanlal Dwivedi's writings are very exciting. He wrote Yuganatar', 'Gandhi Khadi Geet', 'Gavon Mein Kissan', Dadiyat' etc. to put Gandhism into words. Besides this, he also wrote many classic poems related to India, the Indian flag, patriotism, and nationalist leaders. His poems are mostly melodic and therefore sung as chorus. His important writings are 'Bhairavi', 'Prabhati', 'Kunal', 'Yugadhar', 'Chetana' etc. He also wrote a book named Dudhbatas' for children.
