Sub: Highlighting the increasing number of cases of bride-burning.
Sir,
Through the columns of your widely circulated newspaper. I wish to highlight the ever-increasing cases of bride-burning.
Cases of bride-burning have increased manifold. Although there are laws to check harassment in this regard but most the killers of brides remain unpunished. Many cases were reported only last week of the burning of brides but the culprits in most cases remained scot-free free perhaps due to their powerful influence or money.
It is a shame for the society as well as the nation. Stringent steps should be taken in letter and spirit to root out this social evil once for all.
All the people must make a vow to fight against this inhuman evil and help the police in arresting the person responsible for committing such horrible crimes. Women should be given proper respect and protection. We should socially isolate such evil-doers forever. Greed for more and more dowry is the root cause of bride-burning. Ladies should come forward to put an end to such inhuman tortures and deaths.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
XYZ.
