Mother Teresa
"She is an apostle of love and peace." God does not come himself on the earth. He sends his angels in the form of human beings. Mother Teresa in whom the light of God shines is such a saint. She is dedicated to the cause of the poor, the weak, the suffering, the helpless, the downtrodden, and the rejected. She started an organization of sisters and brothers. She was awarded a Noble Prize for peace in 1979 for her services.
Mother Teresa was born on August 26, 1910, to Albanian parents in the small town Skopje of Yugoslavia. Her childhood name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. She decided to become a nun at the age of 18. For this, she joined the Albanian Centre of nuns. She came to India in 1929 to become a teacher at Loerolt Atlay School. She taught Geography from 1929 to 1948 at Calcutta. Due to her ability, hard work, and feeling of social service, she soon became the principal.
In 1946, she was given permission to work in Calcutta slums. She established a new congregation, "Missionaries of Charity" the Vatican the spiritual and administrative center of Roman Catholics, approved it in 1950. Mother Teresa was very simple in her habits. She walked barefooted where she lived. She met everyone who came up to meet her. Her manners were very humble, her voice was soft and gentle and her smile was from the depth of her heart. She attended to correspondence and routine work over and above she is an apostle of love and peace. In her message to the people, she has said, "Let us love one another as God loves each one of us and so bring peace in our own heart, our home, our country, and in the world.
Mother Teresa was completely endowed with divinity. She was devoted to a noble cause. She has declared that she would spend the amount of Noble prize for the good of the poor. Mother wants nothing, owns nothing, claims nothing but only desired to continue her love and serve the poor. By love, she was trying to remove sorrow, pain, and poverty from the world. She wanted to see an era of peace, comfort, and prosperity.
We should follow in the footsteps of Mother Teresa and bring the kingdom of heaven on earth. Mother Teresa was really a mother of humanity. She was spreading the message of love continuously. Let us pray to the great Lord that Mother Teresa may have a life till eternity.
