Dear Sir,

It is with a great deal of regret that I would like to bring to the notice of the concerned authorities the sad state of the park in the Ishaq colony.

There was a time when this park was the pride of west Hyderabad. The fountains used to play day and night, the grass was green and the seasonal flowers were always a sight to hold.

It is however unfortunate that ever since the Municipality has taken the park under its supervision not only the daily gardeners has disappeared, but the park has been reduced to a large ground with practically no grass and flowers. The fountain has long been vandalized by lumpen elements of the area. Stray cattle wander in the park and the slum dwellers use it as an open-air latrine. People often put up tents for celebrating marriages and other occasions. After the occasion is over they leave all the garbage behind. This invites dogs, cattle, kites, and other predatory birds.

Encroachers have swallowed up a large part of the park, where they have put up tea stalls and eateries.

I have to state with a great deal of reluctance that such activities have fond patronage in the local M. L.C of the area.

I would therefore beg with the higher authorities to take urgent steps to put an end to the vandalization of one green area in our locality. I would also urge the authorities to take measures to restore the park to its original glory.

Yours sincerely,

Babu Reddy.
