Biography of Kaka Hathrasi
(September 18, 1906 - 1995)
Kaka Hathrasi was the Master of Limericks'. He wrote amusing, sarcastic poems, and many puzzles based on day-to-day lives. He was born on September 18, 1906, at Hathras (U.P.) in a very poor family.
His childhood days were full of miseries. His father died when he was barely able to walk. It was his mother Burfi Devi who brought him up. She had no money to send her son to school. Anyhow, Kaka got admitted in class I. He completed his initial education while working as a hawker. Perhaps God was watching all this. By his blessings, Kaka got a job of a clerk at the age of 15.
Kaka Hathrasi's real name was Prabhulal Garg. He was very versatile from his childhood. He wrote humorous poems describing the helplessness of man. He was also a good painter and dramatist. His books are 'Sangeet Sagar' and 'Sangeet Visharad'. He was conferred the prestigious title
Padma Shri'. Kaka Hathrasi died in 1995 leaving behind immortal humorous poems.
