Karishma Kapoor is one of the most successful actresses in India. She was born on June 25, 1975. She belongs to the illustrious family of Kapoors, who are famous in the Mumbai film industry. Her early years of schooling were in Cathedral and John Connan High School. She quit her higher education to join Bollywood.
Her first film ‘Prem Qaidi' was a flop. In the beginning, she was not offered good roles. She was used just as a glamorous doll by film producers. She was not offered roles to show her acting skills. It all changed with the film 'Raja Hindustani'. She was awarded with the Filmfare Award for acting in the film. She added another feather in her cap with the film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai', which won the National Award for her acting in the film.
Having proved herself as a glamorous and talented actress, she forayed into parallel cinema. She worked in Khalid Mohammed's 'Fiza' and Shyam Benegal's ‘Zubeida' as an attempt to do something different. Now she is considered a mature actress.
