Biography of Pandit Pratap Narain Mishra

(Born 1856 - Died1894)

Pandit Pratap Narain Mishra was born in 1856 at Baijegaon, Unnao. He was a renowned poet and writer of 'Bhartendu Mandal’.

Pratap Narain Mishra authored more than 50 books during his lifetime. The reason for it was that he was well-versed in languages like Sanskrit, Urdu, Farsi, English and Bangla.

Pratap Narain Mishra was also the editor of 'Brahmin', which was a monthly magazine. All his publications have been compiled into Granthavali' by Nagri Pracharini Sabha, Kashi. He was a good play writer. His plays include 'Hathi Hameer', 'Kali Kavtak', Bharat- Durdasha'.

On the other hand, his famous publications consist of Prem Pushpawali, Man Ki Lehar", "Trapyantaam', Vraidla-Swagat, 'Shaiv Sarwasva', Kavita Lehari.

He was a humourous person and had a lifestyle of his own. He died in 1894.
