Biography of Shatrughan Sinha

Shatrughan Sinha was born in 1941. A Pune Film Institute graduate, he started his film career with a bit role in the film 'Saajan'. Actress Mumtaz recommended him for the film 'Khilona', where his portrayal of the pimp Bihari earned him fame.
In Gulzar's 'Mere Apne', his villainous role and his rendering of it was widely acclaimed. His growing popularity resulted in his transcending villainous roles into doing parallel roles as in the film 'Dost' and leading roles in films like – ‘Kaalicharan' and 'Vishwanath’.
During the late 1970's, Shatrughan Sinha reached the pinnacle of his acting career. The films – ‘Jwala Mukhi', 'Naseeb', 'Shaan', 'Dostana' and ‘Kaala Pathar’, spelled success at the box office. Thereafter, he faced a patchy spell, which was cleared by his films ‘lzaam', made in 1986, and ‘Aag Hi Aag' in 1987.
Shatrughan Sinha, after a period of being an M.P., is now the Union Minister in the Government of India.
